Neat location for putting a boat in, however it does not seem to be picnic friendly. Minus a star: There are no easily visible benches, picnic tables/gazebos or any type of structure for sitting and enjoying the river. Other than the ground, which is ok, just remember a blanket or yoga mat or something to sit on to avoid the stickers and whatever dirt you wouldn’t want to get on your clothes. The outdoors are rough sometimes! But it’s a neat spot to go see turtles and river & marshy wildlife activity. I’m sure there’s birds but I just didn’t see very many (for those into bird watching).

Long ramp, need a good vehicle to pull larger boats. Seemed very clean. Good parking. From the few people I talked to, fishing in the area is great. My brother is the fishing one.

Marcus Storms

It's good for smaller boats, but be mindful of the mud. Not a lot to it. Swimming and fishing not recommended due to waste dumping upstream.

Public boat to the Cape Fear river in Tar Heel. There is a nice size parking area for the boaters. Right now it's close to being under water with all of the flooring going on.
