Glad we drove to the landing by car to check it out. Landing has been closed for renovations since September 2019! Still closed. Despite low water level, it is a picturesque lake. Too bad we can't paddle and fish it in 2022. Maybe next year!

Nice place to set and enjoy the lake.

This is one of the many Tuckaseegee River Access Ramp /Parking areas provided by the Jackson County Department of Recreation and Duke Energy. There is a Concrete Ramp leading down into the East Fork of the Tuckaseegee River on Shook Cove Rd. There is also a very clean restroom facility. They are cleaned daily. Caution should be taken due to the close proximity to the Cedar Cliff Lake Dam outlet. The water level and speed are controlled by Duke Energy and can rise very quickly and with out warning ⚠️. This does make a great Fly Fishing Float or Kayaking trip and Take Out at the East LaPort Ramp and Park. Keep the water clean and your lines tight!

Very nice river access spot. However, the restrooms smell so foul that you need a gas mask. Vile!!!!!
