A beautiful park and great beach area to swim!! Clean restrooms and surrounding areas keep us going back!! I would suggest an all year pass if you love visiting often.Thank you for such beauty and cleanliness in our park!!
This place is absolutely beautiful. Our campsite was the perfect place waterfront. I think our site number was 55. There’s trails, fishing, swimming, water sports, etc. Bath houses were clean. And everyone was so friendly. We can’t wait to come back!
I’m host camping at Tugaloo. Absolutely love it here. There’s lots of options when it comes to the type of camping you want to do. Beautiful park.
A nice park with options for walk-in car camping, RVs, yurts, cabins, and a group site and pioneer site. There are tons of picnic spaces and tons of access to the lake. There's also a nature hut that has scheduled activities. We didn't take advantage, so I can't speak to the quality of programming. There are a couple trails as well, though they seem more like walks than hikes. We skipped them in favor of water activities. My partner and I stayed at walk-in site #2 with our dog. The walk-in sites and yurts share an area of the park with a decent sized bathhouse in-between them. Our site was right off the parking lot so moving gear to and from the car was no issue. It was also pretty secluded thanks to some thick brush. We could hear other campers, but it wasn't disruptive. The tent pad was level and spacious enough for our two and four person tents. There was a relatively new picnic table and lantern pole as well. Sadly the fire pit was kind of sunk into the ground meaning it was difficult for the fire to get adequate airflow (not helped by the wet wood we were sold at the visitor center). We took our canoe on the lake and mostly stuck near the shore except for a trip to the nearby Tuggaloo island (see my review). There were a good number of motorboats and jet skis, but folks were respectful of the no-wake zones and gave us plenty of space. Overall, we enjoyed our stay! I'd recommend to anyone that wants to spend time on a typical lake or just have a nice park to stay that's not too far from Atlanta.
We visited this Georgia state park while we were visiting north Georgia earlier in May. We kayaked and did a few of the hiking trails! It is a beautiful state park! Go and visit! Very peaceful and the folks in the office where you rent the kayaks were very nice and helpful.
