Boater Reviews
We used the boat ramp to go kayaking and then the next day we came to "fish" to the side of it. It's not overly crowded and has facilities. It was nice to have something so close to the campground. We were able to walk around the back of our site and down a short trail to access it. Watch out for holes in the grass up by the boat ramp. I stepped in one and it wasn't great lol.
Great place to put in your paddle board or kayak. Not too busy. Can also put in your boat. Trail along water's edge is nice. Ample parking usually. Have been there when we had to park on road but was shady and better than the parking lot due to the heat. Bathrooms there if needed.
Part of the Uwharrie National Forest. Very clean Arrowhead campground paved roads in campground. Electricity and water sites wonder restrooms and showers. This park has a horse camp and lots of trails for hiking, motorbiking or off-road vehicles. Free camping in gravel parking lot at top of hill. Don't advise driving to off road area in the dark, road is thin and banks. Lots of dust. General store right outside forest has little bit of everything. Very nice, will be back.
Hiking trail 94 to the right of parking lot. Beautiful scenery. Trail continues to Kings Mountain Point Day use area and continues on across parking lot to the right of fishing pier but access is from parking lot.
Great place to go and get away from the heat. Beautiful views and just far away enough from light pollution that you can actually see the stars.
