What tidal conditions are best for launching at Long Cove Slipway?
For saltwater launches like Long Cove Slipway, most boaters prefer launching within 2 hours of high tide. This provides adequate water depth at the ramp and makes navigating shallow areas easier. Check local tide charts before your trip, as low tide can expose oyster beds and sandbars near the launch.
What saltwater fish can I target from Charlotte?
Charlotte waters typically hold redfish, spotted seatrout, flounder, and sheepshead year-round. Seasonal species include tarpon in summer months and black drum in cooler weather. Local tackle shops can provide current reports on what's biting.

Boater Reviews
This is me and bae favorite hide away. A very rare find our first trip was amazing the cabin was clean and smells very nice we had a great view of the lake and there is fishing available for you the cabin had everything we needed so we rarely left the room but we will be going back in Sept 2025
One of the most beautiful spots on Lake Wylie. Kids loved to explore, swim @ the beach, and fish off the dock. Intimate and peaceful, making it feel like you have the entire place to yourself. More affordable than local hotels(very few in the area) and management very helpful and accommodating.
Towed my car even after I showed them I was a member with my wristband.. I ended up paying $300 and the tow truck didn’t even leave the property … I had to stop fishing even when staff members seen me but didn’t ask about my car n when I showed them I was a member they said “it wasn’t anything They could do said I should of bought a parking pass” AFTER THE TOW…” NO TOW AWAY SIGNS AT ALL” Why should a buy a parking pass if I’m a member??? And I got rudely waived off by staff when talking ABOUT my situation… If your not spending top dollars there you’re not important !
